Domenico Ghirlandaio; Birth of the Virgin.
Ghirlandaio’s is not the only depiction of the birth of Mary but its probably my favorite depiction of it. I love the Birth of the Virgin scenes because the only people in them are women. Since birth was an all women event in Renaissance Europe, unless you were royalty, they depicted birth scenes with just women.
