Kiyohara Yukinobu (1643-1682) was one of the most celebrated painter from the prestigious Kanō school and her art frequently depicted historic and legendary women.  Xiwangmu, Queen Mother of the West, is an ancient Chinese goddess often associated with Taoism who can bestow longevity and prosperity.
